Rite Aid will be one of the first companies to benefit from RSD's commitment to the J2EE platform architecture with an EOS Thin Client servlet application, available at end of 2002. As this new product efficiently handles all processing and HTML page generation directly on the server, it requires only an Internet browser to access data.
The elimination of additional software on each PC is critical to a company such as Rite Aid as it frees up the resources normally needed to install and maintain client applications at user sites, in this case amounting to some 3600 retail outlets.
