| Geneva, Switzerland - September 10th, 2002 - RSD is pleased to announce for general availability the Advanced Business Index (ABI), a new component in the latest release of RSD Folders 4.1 running on Unix and Windows server platforms.
Extending the document classification concept of RSD Folders, the ABI provides users with the capacity to search for information in all authorized folders. Indexes are predefined on the server, adapted to user requirements. The index entries can be created automatically during the archival process, using information internal or external to the document. Thus each index contains a list of entries pointing to all documents that fit the index definition, no matter which folder they are stored in.
The ABI allows end users to transparently retrieve information irrespective of the folder filing structure. For example, an enterprise that archives invoices in client-based folders could automatically create indexes based on the amount due and the postal code. Customer relations personnel, via a Web interface, could send a multi-criteria query to the application server and, with sub-second response time and a single mouse click, access a list of matching index entries corresponding to the invoices for a specific postal code where the amount due was over the base limit.
