Geneva – September 22, 2008 – RSD, a leading provider of enterprise content management and reliable business information delivery solutions, today announced the availability of two new product releases: RSD Folders 5.1 for Windows, Linux and UNIX, and RSD Doc2Print 2.1.
“We are extremely pleased to be able to bring these two new products to market. They represent our commitment to continuous innovation in our product lines, and the continuation of our 35-year-old tradition of responding to customer requirements with the highest quality products and capabilities,” said Pierre Van Beneden, RSD President and CEO.
RSD Folders 5.1 for Windows, Linux and UNIX includes several new functional enhancements. The new release has deepened its security and activity tracking capabilities, expanded document capture options and scalability improvements.
Security enhancements include support for the secure LDAP protocol, LDAPS. RSD Folders 5.1 has new activity tracking features which allow authorized users to review all user activity on documents managed in the RSD Folders repository. Document capture enhancements will expand the product’s ability to manage a broader variety of AFP data stream types. In addition, RSD Folders 5.1 significantly expands repository index capacity, enabling high performance document retrieval from repositories containing billions of documents.
RSD Doc2Print is designed for high-volume printing, particularly in a distributed, multi-platform environment. Doc2Print efficiently automates print management at the department or enterprise level. While Doc2Print is particularly well-integrated with RSD EOS and RSD Folders products, it can manage data streams from other platforms with ease.
Doc2Print 2.1 includes significant enhancements to address the demands of high-volume enterprise print environments. This new release includes support for the 64-bit Linux environment, expanded capabilities to manage high-volume scenarios like load-balancing and job distribution to multiple printer targets, and support for printer management capabilities like detecting printer status and printer availability.
