| Geneva, Switzerland - 18 December 2001- RSD announces that its Enterprise Output Solution (EOS) now offers a direct connection with Emtex VIP (Virtual Intelligent Presentation) products to ensure total compatibility between these two solutions.
This new link between EOS and VIP replaces the previous LPR/LPD technology, and offers a more reliable and powerful connection. It brings enhanced efficiency in mass printing and printshops management.
Through its connection with Emtex VIP Host Socket Protocol to the print server, RSD's EOS now has an extended capacity to apply "just in time" principles to the company's printing needs on an OS/390 platform. It will ultimately integrate AFP resource management in order to reduce traffic between EOS and VIP.
The EOS / VIP integration is the result of a fruitful pooling of efforts by both RSD and Emtex development teams. The objective of this development is to offer extended printing capacity and more efficiency to the two companies' common customers
