This product release further strengthens RSD goal to provide a complete enterprise content organization solution to multi-platform environments. A product that gives end-users greater effectiveness and speed in decision-making, collaboration and regulatory compliance.
The new release for z/OS features new add-ons and top of the line functionalities such as PDF format support, increased indexing capacities for folders and documents, frictionless access to archived data, print resources and associated document versioning management.
The RSD Folders for z/OS version 4.2 in detail:
- Enhanced format support with the integration of PDF format as a compatible input and an insertion source for RSD Folders.
- Expanded indexing capability allowing the document name to contains up to 240 characters, and the Folder name up to 120 characters.
- Unlimited and seamless access to stored data and archives using new storage technologies such as CAS (Content Addressed Storage) and interfacing to products such as HSM and EMC CENTERA.
- Maximized print resource management including AFP format, document retrieval, version restoration, addition, deletion and new saving options for resources characteristics as well as additional flexibility in dataset changes.
- Detailed tracking of end user activity and information access with improved
SMF recordings that fulfills recent laws or recommendations like the Sarbanes-Oxley
in the US or Basel II.
